In 2013, AvtoVAZ announced that it was launching a restyled version of Lada Granta in a new body, which is intended to replace the hatchback. According to a company representative, the engineers managed to solve several problems that were identified in the last generation, In addition, the car became safer, and the steering rack was shortened, which should significantly improve the car's handling.

Lada Granta Liftback represents a slightly higher class on the market than Lada Kalina, which has become popular among motorists. According to the results of the research carried out by AUTOSTAT, these 2 cars, as well as Lada Priora, entered the top ten most satisfactory cars sold in Russia. The first generation had an in-plant VAZ 2190 index, the Liftback version was renamed VAZ 2191.
The front of the car has remained practically unchanged, all the same almond-shaped headlights that occupy a considerable area, a sloping hood that flows into small wheel arches. The radiator grille is represented here by a small chrome strip with a Lada badge in the center. The rest of the frame is made of black plastic, which, by the way, is not of good quality.
The car body can be painted in one of eight color options, including green, blue and burgundy shades. Interestingly, one of the options is called "Glacial", and the second is called "Ice". The darkest color is named "Black Pearl".
The fog lights here are housed in small black inserts that sit on the sides of the fairly wide central air intake. The rear-view mirror, by the way, is not small, look solid on this car on the one hand, and on the other hand it is somehow ridiculous, because their dimension does not fit in any way with the class of the car, and even with its appearance. By the way, they have integrated LED direction indicators.
According to company representatives, the profile of the new body carries the main trends that are dictated by the modern automotive market. First of all, it is a domed roof sloping backward, which, by the way, has quite considerable practical significance here. It has been designed to minimize contamination of the rear window located on the tailgate. Of course, for this, a wiper is installed on the car, but why wash the glass if you can not get it dirty.
Also, the manufacturer of Lada Grants 2015 marks the rising line of glazing, which has become fashionable in the past few years. The rear of the liftback has remained virtually unchanged. The rear lights have changed a little, as well as the shape of the bumper, in the center of which there is still a small brake light.

Inside, the model has not changed at all, however, we have a full overview, so let's take a look at every detail. In addition, someone may simply not know what the interior of a sedan looks like. Immediately I would like to note the quality of the materials. Compared to Priora, they have become much better. There are practically no smells in the new car. By the way, in the VAZ-2170 (Priora), let the owners forgive us, the new car had to be weathered for a couple of weeks before starting to ride comfortably in it.
From the driver's seat in the Lada Grant, you can easily reach any button, to any control, so everything is in order here with ergonomics. The only thing that causes some inconvenience is the cupholders, which are located almost under the elbows in front of those sitting.
The instrument panel looks exactly the same: two wells with an on-board computer display in the center, a classic layout. Now the control lamps are not visible until they light up, which even makes the instrument panel a little empty.
The center console looks rather massive, but the details are conveniently stacked on it, which makes it less bulky. In addition, here you can see details from the good old Logan and Sandero, in the form of airflow deflectors, and indeed, the upper part.
The salon contains a sufficient number of different niches for storing small items on the road. This was very much lacking in the previous models of the company, even in the Prior.
A large touchscreen display is installed in the center of the console, which can transmit the image from the rear view camera; it will have to be installed later, in addition, with a multimedia system. The radio tape recorder is equipped with a slot for installing an SD-drive. At the very bottom, buttons are installed to turn on and off the heated front seats.
The rear sofa is quite spacious, more than in Kalina, although formally the cars are in the same segment. Three adults can easily fit here, I must admit that the seat belt for an average passenger is something.
The backrest of the rear sofa folds in a 60/40 ratio, after which 760 liters of cargo can be stowed in the trunk, instead of 440.

One of two power units can be installed on the car, both of them have a working volume of 1.6 liters. Only the first one has 2 valves per cylinder, and the second 4. In addition, the car is offered both with a 5-speed manual gearbox and with a robotic gearbox, which has the same number of shifting gears.
So, the first, 8-valve engine develops 87 horsepower. Such an engine of Lada Grants is known to us from the previous generation of Priora. It develops a torque of 140 Nm of torque, and consumes 9 and 7 liters of fuel in the city and on the highway, respectively. The average consumption in the combined cycle will be 5.7 liters of AI-95 gasoline. Acceleration to 100 km / h with such an engine will take 12.6 seconds, and the speedometer needle will stop at 166 km / h, after which it will completely refuse to go higher. This motor is only offered with a manual transmission.
The second engine is aggregated by both mechanics and a robotic gearbox. It has a DOHC gas distribution mechanism, which allows it to develop 106 horsepower with the same volume as its younger brother. The torque of such a motor is 148 Nm, which is not much more than the previous one. But a robotic gearbox is not inferior to a mechanical one in terms of maximum speed, it is 179 km / h. But in terms of dynamics, the mechanic is far ahead: her "run-up" to a hundred takes only 10.9 seconds, while the robot will need no less than 12.3 seconds for the same exercise.
With regard to fuel consumption, the engine in combination with both gearboxes on the highway will consume 6.6 liters of gasoline, in the combined cycle it will be 5.2 and 5.6 liters for the robot and for the mechanics, respectively. In the city, it will be necessary to fill in 8.6 and 9 liters of fuel every 100 kilometers.

You can find three configurations on the market, which, I must admit, vary quite a lot in terms of equipment. So let's see.

Here the car is offered only with a junior 8-valve engine.It will be equipped with one airbag, audio preparation, central locking with an immobilizer, as well as metallic paintwork. For Lada Granta Liftback, the price in the Standard configuration is 377 thousand rubles.

Next in the hierarchy is this version. A 16-valve is already available here. In this configuration, Lada Granta prices range from 410 to 468 thousand rubles. Here you can find rear door locks, air conditioning, on-board computer, front power windows, tinted windows and decorative moldings.
